Global 7500 Vs. Gulfstream G700 | InsiJets

Bombardier Aviation and Gulfstream are two giants in the aviation industry, in this article, we will look at the differences between the two largest aircrafts the Global 7500 by Bombardier Aviation and the Gulfstream G700. Bombardier Aviation is a Canadian firm, based in Quebec, in 1990 they acquired the American Company Learjet, which had gone bankrupt and incorporated jet aircraft manufacturing to become one of the global leaders in business jet manufacture.

The Global 7500 jet development project was announced in late 2010, however, the release of the aircraft was delayed by two years due to its high-speed transonic wing design which is a feat of superior engineering. It is the largest business jet in the world with the longest range, over 7,700 nautical miles. Aside from its flawless engineering and agility, the Global 7500 is fast and has an exceptional, unparalleled speed and short-field performance.

Inside, the attention to detail and luxury makes this an elegant and comfortable choice for private jet travel, It’s sleek interior consists of four living spaces including a large ultra-galley and kitchen and a suite for cabin crew. The seating has a patented deep recline feature which has been the first new innovative design for aircraft seating in over 30 years.

performance, range and size

Though the Global 7500 ousted the Gulfstream G650ER from top spot with its performance, range and size. Gulfstream were quick to respond to the challenge and developed their Gulfstream G700 jet as a response to this competition. Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, the American aviation company with experience in designing and manufacturing over 2,000 aircraft since 1958, launched their G700 jet with up to five living areas, flexible configuration, circadian lighting to reduce the effect of Jetlag and free Wi-Fi among some of its features.

The G700 also has the widest, tallest and longest cabin in the industry ensuring a spacious flight and optimum comfort.

Technical advances include two Rolls-Royce Pearl 18 engines with over 18,000 LBS of thrust, all-new winglet and aerodynamic design that enables the aircraft to travel at Mach 0.90 for 6,400 nautical miles or long-range cruise at Mach 0.85 for 7,500 nautical miles. It also features a Predictive Landing Performance System that has earned awards in the industry.

Hygiene is of utmost importance and both jets are equipped with advanced HEPA filters which can block up to 99.99% of bacteria, viruses and allergens by replacing the air that circulates within the aircraft every 90 seconds.

So, which one is the winner? The Global 7500 or the Gulfstream G700?

In terms of cabin size, both jets are spacious and ideal for the business traveller and can comfortably accommodate up to 19 passengers. However, here the Gulfstream G700 wins out with enough space for five separate zones instead of the four available on the Global 7500. Furthermore, the Gulfstream cabin is taller and wider than that of the Global 7500.

The flight range for both jets is more or less the same, with the Global 7500 winning with a slight edge over the Gulfstream G700. It is worth mentioning that the Global 7500 completed a successful flight from Detroit to Sydney in October 2019, travelling over 8,200 nautical miles and breaking a record for the longest flight and range by a business jet. The Global 7500 does have an advantage though, it requires 480 feet less runway space than the Global G700 for take-off, allowing more travel opportunities if you plan to land at an airstrip with a shorter runway. Both jets are equally matched with regards to speed, with each aircraft capable of traveling up to a maximum speed of Mach 0.925.

Ultimately, there is no clear winner between the two. If you value space, then the Gulfstream offers larger dimensions, though the Global 7500 is slightly larger, making it the perfect choice for you. Aside from that, both jet aircraft offer air travel with speed, comfort and prestige.
