SHY Aviation has partnered with Pelorus, who design unique and luxurious travel and yachting experiences around the world.

This March is eponymous in the Grand Prix racing calendar with the first ever to occur – taking place in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, we have teamed up to provide a luxurious private jet transfer to both locations and a private yacht charter for the entirety of the racing weekends.

Round 1 of the 2022 season kicks off in Bahrain, the leading country for Formula1 racing in the region. Nestled in the heart of the Sakhir desert, the Bahrain International Circuit offers a truly unique, daring desert race experience which no Formula1 fan would want to miss. It is also one of the few races on the circuit that takes place under floodlights, intensifying the competition and raising the stakes.

The Saudi Arabia Grand Prix boasts a unique and riveting 50 lap frenzy on the Formula1 circuit, synonymous with the highest level of global motor sport. A recent addition to the circuit, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit is a new item which must be ticked off your Formula1 bucket list. Located on the banks of the Red Sea in a coastal resort area of the ancient Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah, it creates a distinctive ambiance for the Grand Prix. Known as the ‘Temple of Speed’, it is the fastest street circuit ever seen in Formula1.

Pelorus and SHY Aviation can enhance your experience at both Grands Prix with a spectacular arrival and departure via private jet and Formula1 insider experiences, varying from meet and greets with track icons, exclusive pit lane walks, and a driving tour of the track, as well as an opportunity to take photos with the championship trophy. The die-hard Formula1 fan package.

Catch all the action and more with the ultimate yacht charter experience hosted by Pelorus, which will cover both Grands Prix as well as limitless exploration of ancient cities and the Red Sea in between. Start your adventure in Bahrain for the iconic desert duel and after the final race on Sunday, hop on a plane and fly into Al Ula, Saudi Arabia, and discover the historical Hegra, its diverse landscapes and jagged rock formations. Head then to the coast to board your luxury yacht on the mystical waters of the Red Sea and slowly sail south over the course of five days towards Jeddah, for the second Grand Prix, creating memories that will last a lifetime along the way.

The itinerary is entirely up to you, but below is an inspiration deck curated by our expert insiders within the Middle Eastern region.

AL ULA

Al Ula is an oasis of human and natural heritage, a crossroads of ancient civilisations. A trip here will see you journeying through living museums of preserved tombs, sandstone crops, historic quarters and spectacular structures – both natural and manmade. For those seeking adventure, Pelorus can ensure that you experience these spectacles by truly connecting you to your surrounding environment, allowing you to view it from as many perspectives and by as many means as possible. A quest bursting with heart-pumping experiences.

Embark on a sunset quest to the iconic Elephant Rock. Whilst there, there is an option to witness an extraordinary falconry display, a deep rooted tradition that has been an integral part of Bedouin History. Soar the majestic skies of Al Ula in a private helicopter and view its diverse landscapes. From vast stretches of desert, to rugged rock formations, and the lush biodiversity of the secluded oasis. Take a hike to uncover extinct volcanoes, cavernous valleys, and rock formations in the nearby areas. Drive gravity carts – a newly developed vehicle adapted to allow you to race down rugged mountains and off the beaten track without impacting the natural environment. Trigger your adrenaline and race along the desert dunes in buggies or ATV’S, or take a more relaxed tour in a vintage Land Rover. Cruise across the diverse landscapes on electric bikes for a one-on-one with the antique city. In between all this, let us sweep you off your feet with a secluded dining experience in the desert and under the stars, in the company of an expert astrologer. End it all with a trip to Maraya, the world’s largest mirrored building, set in the desert canyon of Ashar Valley.

ALONG THE RED SEA

As one of the seven wonders of the underwater world, the Red Sea is one of the top destinations for scuba divers and snorkelers worldwide, for advanced and beginner divers alike. Due to minimal rainfall, high evaporation levels and an isolated location, the Red Sea has one of the highest salinity rates in the world, resulting in spectacular diving conditions and particularly impressive visibility, for 365 days of the year. Submerge yourself in its depths and marvel at antique shipwrecks and colourful coral reefs booming with sea life. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a manatee! The island of Daedalus offers dramatic encounters with manta rays and various shark species. Dive from the aft deck to meet these marvellous creatures.

To relax and reconnect, enjoy an island flow with local yogi masters or customised cocktails prepared by your crew on board as you marvel at the fiery sunset during golden hour.

JEDDAH

Wake up in the ancient port of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia’s buzzing cosmopolitan hub. Before setting off into the city on foot, enjoy some high-octane kitesurfing. With consistent winds all year round, Jeddah is a world-class kitesurf spot. Cruising next to mangrove trees and super flat waters whilst embracing the city’s mystic energy will set your stoke through the roof.

In land, the most magical experience in Jeddah is a private rooftop outing at the top of the Naseef House. Pelorus can secure you exclusive permissions to access it. This is the Saudi Arabian king’s old house, which has been restored, but still holds all its majesty. The breath-taking moment takes place during the ‘Adhan’ call to prayer at sunset, with a 360-degree wall of sound, which you will get to experience first-hand.

Art lovers can enjoy a private tour of the magical galleries in Jeddah and meet some local artists. It is known as the ‘Art Capital of Saudi Arabia’. Attractions include the Open-Air Sculpture Museum featuring Henry Moore, Jean Miro and many other world-renowned artists. Other Historical Museums of note are Al Tayebat City Musuem and Matbouli House Museum. Just 90 minutes North of Jeddah is KAEC, King Abdullah Economic City, which is an incredible oasis in the middle of nowhere, boasting luxury hotels, a marina with boat trips, go-carting, and a world-class golf course. Go wild!

When you’re ready, the second race of the first round of the 2022 Grands Prix awaits you. Head off to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit and watch the 50-lap frenzy for the second time ever.

After a week featuring two Grands Prix, a whimsical ancient city, Red Sea exploration, and adrenaline-packed action, prepare to head home on a private jet with memories that will last a lifetime.
